Welcome to Ride Smart

Welcome to the Wisconsin Trail Patrol Ambassador Program Web Site!

The Trail Patrol Ambassador program is a group of dedicated and trained volunteers who give their time to patrol our states ATV trails. We are not law enforcement officers however most of our clubs work directly with law enforcement agencies. All of our volunteers are certified ATV safety instructors from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, however many of our Ambassadors have more training such as fire fighters, ems, and law enforcement officers / volunteers.

Some of our tasks included:

  • Educating the riders on the rules and regulations as well as ethical riding practices.
  • Teach Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources ATV certification class.
  • Patrol the trails while watching for riders in distress or riders who are violating the law.
  • Trail clean up.
  • Sign posting.
  • Have fun!
